The cover of the graphic novel looks great. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

We all know that ‘Airman’ is a science fiction type book, but exactly is it about? I’ve been real curious about that….Other than what you’ve already told us, can you tell us anything else?

    Mr. Colfer,
I have to admit that when I saw the cover for the new graphic novel I literally clapped my hands, I was so excited. I had always thought that if it wasnt able to this point or into a movie, I’d personally direct or draw one, with your permission of course.
I am also excited to hear of your progess with Artemis Fowl six. I am a bit older now, but I dont think I’d ever consider myself too old for a good adventure book.
I hope you and your family are doing well as you continue your work. You have nothing, but my best wishes.
    Yours truly,
    Alexo Swiss

hi! just thought i’d be the first to comment. ^^ the graphic novel’s gonna rule! smile a little!

Oooh! Full-color graphic novel! SO excited. (Fangirly squee here.) See, I was expecting it to be black-and-white because, well, I grew up on Fruits Basket and Fullmetal Alchemist and other imported-from-Japan styles, but this is great! And the art definitely looks fantastic.

I hope the jetlag shakes itself out quickly.

I love video blogs–they’re so much more personal that text, you know what I mean?

Thanks for keeping us so well-informed, Mr. Colfer! (Oooh, new sci-fi! Yay!)

    Best wishes,

    Miri

    Mr Colfer,
Wow. The graphic novel looks great. Knowing my critical nature I don’t know how much I’ll like it, as a tend to dislike even the slightest changes from transition of novel to movie/TV series/Graphic novel et cetera. Although I’ll tolerate some. Another thing is I was recently greatly disapointed in the Graphic Novel of another of the book series I read. But the art looks great! I bet this’ll shatter the images I have of all the characters, I often imagine them waaaay wrong.
And now I’m gonna stop rambling about pointless random subjects somewhat related to the wonderous series that is Artemis Fowl.
    Sincerely,
Gingey, a huge fan of Artemis and The Supernaturalist

Like others have said, when I first saw the cover for the graphic novel I was kind of wierded out. I guess I didn’t expect Artemis’s hair to be so much like my dad’s…. But it’s starting to grow on me. Even if I didn’t like it though I think I would still buy it because the story is so good I’d take it in any form possible. :D
One more thing. It was a little difficult for me to hear you on this video. The last one was fine, but I couldn’t understand some things this time.

Thanks for taking the time to “talk” to your fans, Eoin! :) ~ yo-yo

Why?! Why Mr. Colfer do you have to flash that comic book around? You know everyone wants to read it. I CAN’T WAIT! I’m totally saving up my money for that book and I’m looking forward to your other books too. But stop flashing around that comic book it so painful because I can’t read it yet.

    Peace.

I’m afriad nothing can best the reader’s imagination, but I firmly believe I will enjoy the graphic novel. How can I not? I love picture books! Even though I’ve . . . supposedly outgrown them by now. It makes me wish I was better at using my imagination to draw. I can only copy artwork, draw portraits of people, try watercolor ships at sea, and paint maps. My free-hand drawing isn’t . . . so great, despite what younger kids say.
This video blog is taking an exceptionally long time to load.

First of all, unlike the above person who almost wet themselves at the end of book five, I actually did wet myself. Well, not really. But it was fantastic! I was at both of your signings here in Minnesota. You’re a fantastic speaker - hilarious, and informative. I definitely hope you make it back here so you can sign Airman or the graphic novel!

The graphic novel looks fantastic. I have always loved them to the displeasure of my friends. But now they’re telling me that they all plan to read this graphic novel just because it’s Artemis Fowl (and really, how can you blame them?) It looks like you’ll bring a whole host of new graphic novel fans into the genre with Artemis Fowl: The Graphic Novel! The illustrations look fantastic, even if the cover leaves a bit to be desired.

Airman sounds wonderful. 19th century is an amazing time period and I can’t wait to find out what you can do with it!

You’re such a fantastic writer and I’m so glad to find out you’re making so many new books. I love that you’re doing these video blogs, and I hope that you continue to do them. My only problem is that occasionally your voice gets so quiet that it’s hard for me to understand you. And that’s a shame because you definitely deserve to be heard.

Congratulations on all of your success!!

I think video blogs are a wonderful idea, Mr. Colfer. Many authors get a little bit behind in technology, such as those who refuse to get a website, or don’t like “newfangled” advances in this arena, and love nothing better than to complain about them in front of large crowds. It is a great joy to me that you stay on top of what’s new, and keep updated with the current tech, such as video blogs. By the way… Have you ever written any poems?

Thank you for your ceaseless devotion to your fans,

    Luke

I’m a Eurasian, half Irish, half Chinese. Lived in Saigon and Hong Kong for many years. Now in Bangkok. Then one day, a friend got me this first copy of Artemis. She thought i will be able to related to it. Dont like it at first, but now i cant put it down.So……gooooooood. I enjoy it so much and cant wait for the graphic copy.Tell me to stop !

  14. 14 Paola

*Tries not to faint or have heart attack* Amazing, that’s the only way I can describe the novel (cliche, I know, but it’s true). I was expecting it to be a bit more cartoony, but this style goes better with the dark edge of the novels. Now, you’re obviously a busy man, and I hope you don’t mind me asking, but will some of the designs and details (on weapons, crafts, scenery, etc.) on the graphic novel influence those of the movie?
    Your #1 latina fan,
    Paola

Mr.C(is it ok that I call u that?),
I love the fact that you have 2 new books coming out and all but 2 things.
    1. Can you do a video blog AND a normal typing blog? My computer is to slow to watch the video blogs(it took 2 hours for me to watch the 2nd video blog)
    2. As I’m a HUGE AF fan can you tell me MORE about the movie, like casting calls? I would LOVE to play Capt. Holly Short!!!!! My friend got me into the books cause he said I was alot like Holly, being all hard-headed and stuff like that. He is also the reason I started acting. He had me act out scenes from the Harry Potter movies during lunch.
Well thats all I have to say. For now that is. But I can’t WAIT to get my hands on the graphic novel!!!!!!!
