Hello All,
We are building quite a community here, which is nice to see. This site is giving me a real sense of the readers around the world- I feel all warm and fuzzy- but that could be the heated slippers. Did I read that someone did not know who Douglas Adams was? For shame. Go read immediately. The man was a genius and taken too soon.
I am off to New York for Book Expo America- so I should have some pictures from there and maybe a video or two when I get back.
Until then, I will be checking the notice board as regularly as I can and trying to reply to the more sensational comments.
Fowl wishes (is that a cheesy sign-off or ok?)

Woohoo! NY! If you get the chance, stop by the China town and there’s a shop called “Okashi Land” which is a true-to-earth Japanese Candy shop!
Its one of my favorite places in NY.
The Fowl wishes is a bit…..cheesy
I would like to go to a book expo! but I live in florida. Oh well.
I just finished reading the 5th Artemis book and I absolutely love it! It left me sorta crazy for a while, and I almost couln’t go to sleep last night thinking about all the stuff that might happen in the next book because of all the turn of events. I’ll try to contain my fandom a bit.
Decoding those messages is fun.
Hehehehe…i like that sign off. I don’t think its cheesy. =D
Off to New York, huh? That’s great, I hope you have fun! =)
….and speaking of the U.S., do you have any plans to come to California again? Sometime soon, maybe? Or even a long time from now? It would be awesome to see you here again.
Hmm. Douglas Adams? I know that I’ve heard of Douglas Adams before, but I’ve never read any of his work (*gasp!*). I’ll have to add that to my “Must Read” list!
And don’t worry, “Fowl wishes” is a great sign-off. It’s not cheesy at all. =)
Mr. Colfer,
It’s really cool you check the messageboard!
There should be a section where you can answer questions for your fans!
Have fun in New York! Watch out for the plethora of cabs!
Oh wow, New York. I wish I could go there someday too.. XD And the sign-off sounds nice! ^^
:O
Cassie!
He wrote The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul… etc… though, unfortunately, he passed away in 2001. =[
Have fun in New York, Eoin! Take loads of snaps and videos! I look forward to watching/seeing them when you get back!
Matt
Oook, Douglas Adams is sign in the Books-to-read List now. =p About “Fowl wishes”… well, that depends of Arty’s intentions. ^_^U
In response to Matt:
Yeah, I know who Douglas Adams is, I just haven’t actually read any of his books yet (I know, I can’t believe it either). But I will, though. I will!! I must! ^_~
Yes, you must! xD His works are amazingly good reads… =]
Actually, I hadn’t heard of Douglas Adams either… *cheesygrin*
And bea sounds fun! Drink more apple juice! Yay!
Never heard of Douglas Adams?! *GASP* He was a genius. Though genius seems like such an understatement. All I had to do was read the first paragraph of Hitchhiker’s and wow.
Anywho… I’ve been working on my plot to take over the world, so I was wondering if you or anyone had any suggestions. I figured since you have this amazing talent for creating and twisting plots, you’d probably be able to tell me how to take over the world, so any thoughts?
Hi my name is Debie(nee Deborah Colfer). I have always wondered about my family origins. My grandfather was one of twins who came over to Wales from Ireland (Wexford)as a 4 year old. His brother got left in Ireland. Somewhat strange…for twins to seperate. Apparantly his mother(my great grandmother) left in a rush. A divorce or something of that nature I don’t really know. My curiosity and imagination just runs riots. I wonder where we are related? I think the teacher/artist/writer/creator must run in the blood line. If we are related it is good to see you’ve made a success of your natural talents.
Best wishes
Debie
Since the first lines of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” I fell in love with Adams. And to think it all began with a house… =D
He really was a genious, and his books changed the way I see the world around me. I was happy to know you like him too Eoin!! =)
NY? When?
Mr.Colfer, I’ve noticed that you don’t have a “contact” on your site.
Are you, by any chance going to come to Chicago soonish (within five years)? That would be awsome! If by any chance you do, please be sure to post. But most of all, go see Navy Pier!
Enjoy NY! I haven’t been there yet but the Statue of Liberty would be a GREAT picture!
Enjoy coming to see us! Don’t forget to see Juliet while you’re here. I bet she’s getting a bit homesick. Best of luck!

I love Douglas Adams. I’m trying to get all his books but I adore Hitchhiker’s guide. Seriously funny and random. By the way, Mr. Colfer, i hope you come to Toronto Canada at some point. Although i may die of a heart attack if you do. As for the sign off, i think it’s cute, with a dangerous undertone. nice.
I’d love to go to New York…mainly for the shopping (my own guilty passion!) Mind you, Ireland is still one of my top must-see destinations. I look forward to seeing some of your pictures!
I’ve heard so many great things about Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy. I am planning to read it soon. To be honest, I haven’t been finding it very easy to make time for reading lately. These are the times that I feel a decided hatred for GCSEs. I am determined to make some space for some relaxation for my brain.
I think there are such things as “good” cheesy, the kind that makes you smile and the “bad” kind that just makes you think “Whatever…” I liked your cheesy sign-off. I would be a hypocrite if I said I didn’t.
Have a great time in New York!
I just wanted to thank you for your great Artemis Fowl series. They are absolutely a must read. While waiting for the next and final book I started to read some of your other books. They are good but the Artemis Fowl books are still my favorite. That and The Supernaturalists. You and J.K Rowling are the best two authors ever. Have fun in NY and feel free to come to North Carolina, my home state.
Thank you Eoin Colfer.
For bringing these amazing books into reality.
-Inspiring really
I’ve just finished reading The Lost Colony today, really neat!
You are probably-no wait, excuse me-THE best author I know. J.K Rowling better watch out!
Of all your books, the Artemis Fowl books are best! (my opinion)
Really cool, adventurous, and a whole lot of other things. (I will not list them all because it will take WAY to long!)
I’m spreading the word about Artemis Fowl-I’ve gotten all my friends reading them! Even my friends who don’t like to read as much, but now they love to read. They all love it!
Thank you,
A North Carolina Resident,
And One of Your BIGGEST fans,
~Hali

Thanks for being so wonderful and thinking on your fans!!!
