I know I said this earlier, but I feel I have to say it again. This is fantastic Colfer. I’ve read every AF book, (Couldn’t ever get into Airman, but I did enjoy Wish List) and to be completely honest, I was a googol percent uncertain about anyone writing a new HHG book, especially as, and don’t take this the wrong way, your writing style was nothing like Adams’. Fowl may be good/great, but HHG was always fantastic/amazing.

I’d like to say again, that this is possibly (so far) my favourite HHG book written. It’s ridiculously funny, written extremely well (nailing the ‘Guide’ tone) and insanely clever. I was so pleased to see that you didn’t rehash the jokes from the earlier books and instead created new species, new planets, and new genuinely funny sections. So Well Done in that respect. I look forward to attending the thing in October, and let me just say again, Well Done. It can’t have been easy, especially as you yourself are reportedly a HHG fan, but I think that helped, because it reads so much like a Guide, it’s crazy.

Though my issue is (blank) of 42 (ie, unnumbered!) Looking forward to my baby heading to bed so I can get some reading done!

Fantastic. I received my copy this morning (Copy 200/42, which I thought was a very nice touch), and I immediately was overjoyed. I loved the Vogon stamp, as well as the Newspaper format, and I think the writing quality is superb. It truly feels like a Hitchhikers Guide book, and I can’t wait to read more of it.
