How do I get a copy of the “Who is Artemis Fowl” book for my son?
    Thanks…

Well, I just had a question about the Artemis Fowl movie, but I couldn’t find any posts about it to make a comment, so I am making it here, even thought this post seems to be about “Who Is Artemis Fowl?”

Even though this probably will not be answered, I wanted to know how they are going to portray fairies in the movie. When I read the Artemis Fowl books, I don’t picture Holly or Root or Mulch as 3 feet tall, that just seems bizarre. I picture them as the same height as Artemis. It just seems right. And I feel that if in the movie, the fairies are going to be Oompa-Loompa size, it would be kind of weird. I don’t know what I’m saying. Whatever. I just wish that there would be more information about the movie.

(Also, I’m glad that the Time Paradox got released in the U.S. earlier than everyone else! Yippee!)

Ok, I live in the U.S. so the question is:
How am I supposed to get this?!?!

I LOVED LOVED LOVED The Time Paradox, by the way. Absolutely AMAZING!!! I can’t wait for the next one.

Im not sure I dont think anyone except Eoin Colfer and the directors know anything about the movie but I cant wait till it comes out because Artemis Fowl is the greatest character in the world. If I ever have children I hope they feel the same way. These books are phenomenal. And 3ft fairies might seem a little weird but fairies are faires.

For the longest time, Charlie Bone was my favorite series, and it still is, but Artemis is so next. In fact, until number eight comes out, I am going to have to rely on Artemis to lift my spirits. He was the most intriguing character I have ever known, and I have spent hours just sitting there, going over and over the books. I laugh at every smart comment Foaly, or Root (in the first three), or Short, and especialy when Artemis makes a smart comment. He’s a wonderful person, even when he was a criminal mastermind, and he’s really good at stealing your mind and releasing it in the book. I am thirteen years old, and there is not one day that goes by when I don’t think of the story. I even spend more hours passing notes to my brother in gnommish, and imagining passing notes to Artemis. My brother and I are the only two I know who can read it, and we have become experts. I am waiting to read number six, The Time Paradox, and am awaiting it in agony. Eoin Colfer, I must congratulate you on giving me a friend, for being a prodigy is never easy. Now I know someone like me, and he never will ditch me, for I can read his stories over and over, and keep him alive when the books stop. If he were real, and I got to meet him, I would never be able to stay conscious.

    Dear Eoin,
I will never forget reading the Artemis Fowl series, for they are the very books that never leave my side.

They say it is impossible to ignore books for many. For others, it is impossible to finish. For me, it is impossible to read them only once. It is impossible to regret reading a book. It is impoosible to let a book go without shining a light in every corner. I must know everything, and never forget it. These, I will never forget. These, I will never, ever, forget. They are the very trasure i have been searching for, and the missing piece to my puzzle. I hold very few books close to my heart, though many are good. These will never leave it. I model my ways after Artemis, and congratulate Eoin in every possible way, for he shall never be looked down upon by any.

Artemis Fowl is the forever best series of books I have ever come upon! When one of my friends were reading the arctic incident, I was watching her like a hawk, all throughout my lunch break reading the back of the book from a great distance, over and over until I practically memorized it. Once the bell rang, I walked with him to class until he gave me a brief summary on the first book. I was wowed. I couldn’t believe an author could be so imaginative! I begged my mother until I had those books in my reach, to get them. When I started reading the first page I decided that I would call my friend, to thank him for the adventure I was to have reading these series of books. Once I did, we both became best friends, and soon I had introduced him to the gang. We all started to become fluent with reading and writing in gnomish. That was a new life to read about the adventures that Artemis and Holly had together. Oh, before I forget, I’d like to agree with “Fowl” who had said that meeting Artemis in my life, would never leave me conscious. I am some REAL bookworm, but to find out about a MOVIE

ABSOLUTELY,WITHOUT QUESTION OR DOUBT, Artemis Fowl ROCKS!!!!!!! A movie about him would be totally awesome. But seriously, I have to wait till August 3 for the Atlantis complex? sigh. Eoin Colfer, you are an AMAZING WRITER and I hope that you will continue to write Artemis amazing adventures to experience. Question though, will Artemis ever marry, and who will he marry? I know, I sound like a HOPELESS romantic but this is a good sign. Will Artemis’s parents have any other kids, like a girl? It would be cool to see how Artemis interacts with a baby sister around. Small idea for an adventure for Artemis that I liked from AgiVega’s Aztec adventure story, what if Artemis had to become an fairy in order to save like Holly or someone? Little side comment here, AgiVega, I liked your story, except for a few elements that I will not mention, but Artemis Fowl would not be Artemis Fowl without his smarts. simple as that. Now that I have rambled for forever I will leave, but I hope I have been of some use to the overall fanworld of Artemis Fowl with my questions.

by the way i hope the directors do not cut out or change anything in the af movie like percy jakson (i mean olimpus is white not grey with storm couds)

I live in the U.S. and I’ve read all of the books, except the one that just came out! I heard there was a movie. The thing is, it hasn’t been filmed yet; the script is all set though. I hope it comes out soon!!

Hey, um so I have a question, what ever happened to Minerva pizzaro? I mean you had her in, and she became one of my favorite characters. i hope she could come back into the books. also will there be a movie? honestly . . . I hope not, because the movies are always disappionting compared to the books. This is also kind of emmbaressing, but I’m 12 right now, in seventh grade, and I know what I want to be a director, but I want to make Artemis Fowl a movie, but I’m only twelve, and i doubt you will . . . if you see this eion, I would like if you would wait for me, because when I become a director I want you to co-direct with me. But here’s the thing, I would like the script to be the book, exactly the same, so thats it, I’ve been wanting to talk to you about that, like forever,
    best Wishes,
    your hopeful new director

    Hi Lori,
The book was a free promotional item so it’s not available for general sale.
    Sorry.

genius..never in my life I’d read something as interesting as your books:Artemis Fowl series.. I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful creation..I expect more extreme adventures and storyline in the future and of course, a little romance between the main characters won’t be any harm perhaps.. it’s really amusing when Artemis felt awkward with Captain Holly Short..

I’ll expect nothing less from you

Hi! I just like to say – rock on! And something else, sort of in line with what Sarah was saying eariler. You mightn’t like it very much, but please consider it.
The thing is, I’m kind of getting the vibe that Artemis is losing the sense of identity that he once had, between the very over-kill book covers and movies, but most especially these grapic “novels”. What I’m trying to say is that they don’t really remain loyal to the concept of the books, and, to be brutally honest, if the movie looks like it’s going to hop on the band-wagon with all of this hype about an Artemis, that personally, the books didn’t introduce us to, then I’ll be thinking twice about going to see it – I know, I can’t believe I’m even considering doing that, but I’d feel like I’m going to not to watch the genuis that is Artemis Fowl, but another thing intirely, a creature that has grown up through the cracks of my favourite book ever, and, truthfully, has sort of taken over. Just a bit. For example, to go back to the grapic novels, Holly Short DOES NOT have a black bob!!!!! Just scrolling through google images on Artemis make me want to cry, it just isn’t him.
And, looking back on this post, I’m really sorry because it was so negative, so, in conclusion, I’d just like to say:
Artemis, is the best book I’ve ever read, that includes TLOTR, the da vinci code, and Hitchhikers (although, now, Hithhikers …)and I didn’t realise that I wasn’t the only one who was fluent in Gnomish, so that rocks hard (pixies, extreme!)and I love you guys gtg xxx Minerva
