Preorder the book now from Waterstones
I really cannot wait for this *_* I can only pray that the book will come out on the 20th where I live. It would be absolutely unfortunate (and frustrating and killing) if I have to wait months for the book to arrive here.
This extract was hilarious and enlightening at the same time. Thank you for sharing!
*dies of happiness* I simply can not wait!! It was only the other day I reread the Time Paradox and was wishing a sequel would come out soon!!! thank you so much for this – made my week <3
Wow, this was great. I’d like to learn more about this “Orion”
I heard that AF7 has been postponed until Aug 3rd. Is that true?
i might have to blow my brains out if i must wait that long. (nah… i may be crazy for AF but im not suicidal)
Colfer, i love all your stories. Please quickly begin more books. (Best if there’s another AF)
Hahahah! Brilliant as always! Orion is pretty cheesy XD I can’t wait to read more about their ‘moment of passion’, preferably with plenty of embarrassment to go around.
It will be very interesting to see Artemis’ mind unravelling! Can’t wait.
Most. hilarious. Artemis Fowl. extract. EVER!
I can’t wait! Why must the book come out on august 3 in the U.S.???!!! Why can’t it come out now???!!!
This is excellent! I totally cracked up!
By the way, does anyone know when it’s coming to India?
Honestly, I thought I was doing a fairly good job of suppressing my fan girl instincts, but when I rushed to the computer in a skipping fashion and found myself squealing, well it all went downhill. I still have a few weeks until it’s released here in the States [torture], and frankly this didn’t help.
Cannot wait for this book, and until then, I suppose I’ll continue neglecting my summer reading and re-read the other Artemis Fowl books. *squeal*
Well…All I know is, if you live in Singapore, it’s probably only going to arrive a week later. SIGH, the ETERNITY of a WEEEEEEEK.
–AF (uh, yeah, that’s my real initials)
Awwwwwww!! holly loves him really! I’m hoping that they get together in this book coz they r made for eachother! I lol’d so much at this extract, eoin colfer is a GENIUS!!! My copy is coming on Saturday *sob* and until then I’m re-reading all the others!! Xx
One United States day left!!!!
when will it come out in america in paper back?
I’m finding that the dialogue in Colfer’s writing is straying further away from the wittiness and rationality (though, I’m probably only imagining the rationality) it had once been said to have had, and verging towards Chandlerian bore (and by “Chandlerian,” I mean by the sort of (un)clever wisecracks uttered by none other than Chandler Bing from “Friends” – not that it’s unfunny per se, but it’s not very congruent with the genius’ situation and it kinda makes the characters less empathetic and more there for the sake of jokes). I can’t remember if this sort of thing has always been happening since the beginning of the series, but reading the first chapter of AC, I felt like Foaly was blatantly being way too sarcastic for his own good, and that Artemis appeared insubstantial in his supposed genius, OCD influences excluded. Overall, I wasn’t impressed, and if this excerpt is supposed to represent one of top scenes in the book, then I don’t even know if I should bother reading the whole thing. Not that it isn’t totally *wonderful* and hilarious that Artemis/Orion starts to explicitly show some romantic attentions to Holly, now, but, while listening to this excerpt, I couldn’t help thinking, “ugh, why can’t the discussion be just a bit more enlightening instead of being one cheesy pick-up line after another?” and, “shut up Foaly! You’re not helping!”
.
Maybe it’s just the process of outgrowing old mindsets from a younger stage of life that causes me to lose interest in the level of discussion that is present in the book, and to continuously strive to improve my mindsets and ideologies by reading different sources of literature that I have yet to explore, knowing that the old ones have already been quite thoroughly explored. Nevertheless, I admit that I had a good (awesome) time while the period lasted; I’ve learned and enjoyed much, and will now go on to explore more things to learn from and enjoy. So, thank you, Eoin Colfer, for creating this series for readers of the world to learn from and enjoy. I won’t ever forget that I once adored it, and will hold on to that thought until I do not live to think anymore
And on the aside, why does Eoin Colfer have a bandage on his nose?
I loved Atlantis Complex and it was awesome. All books have to evolve and I was happy that AC was completely different than the others in the series. Also the other books went in to too many details about previous adventures – AC on the other hand was more for the fans who were with Artemis from the beginning.
