Must mud-men convince their children to read by these so called gaming devices. Me, Foaly find humans teaching methods foolish to say the least. Mud-men have yet to discover elemental magic and yet they continue to create such absurd devices. Their stupidity will be the cause of their own extinction. I have seen so few humans that demonstrate a somewhat decent intelligence level. No human, obviously can best me. These humans still use HTTP, a mudmen markup language for webpages. Old, not efficent, yes. Do they still use it? Dissapointingly, yes. Humans have yet to define what Web 2.0 is and are already spouting out the mindless jargon that is Web 3.0. So called human “scientists”, fail at many equations involving energy due to the fact that they deny elemental magic. NASA is somewhat decent as they study the subject that could help human and fairy kind in the future. Foolish humans use a device called the “Nintendo DS” to fullfill their button mashing desires or what they call a videogame. It has 16 MB of RAM. Seriously, mudmen. Is that enough? At least have 4 PB of RAM and include a nano sensor. I will stop this rambling as I doubt any intelligent human will read this. The human who owns this blog will not be able to retrieve my IP Address due to the fact that I am using a proxy server. Good riddance. Their computers wouldn’t be able to decipher the thing they call an IP Address. I encrypted it and no, not with the terrible human encryption standard that is called AES. I hope humans will get a better grasp of things.
- Foaly
Now my dear Foaly I believe we both understand the jest of what you are trying to say. However, you are incorrect to assume all humans are incapable of besting a faerie in the field of knowledge. If I recall I in fact on several occasions outsmarted you in ways you neither were prepared for nor anticipated. During one of which you “appeared” to have one but as we both know that is incorrect seeing as I managed to fully lie to you directly while appearing to be under your “mesmer.” Moreover, whilst I agree the statement that some human means of technology are inefficient to an extent, you must be able to note the fact that there are various exceptions to your “knowledge.” One being our so-called “primal” weapon known as the tranquilizer gun, which on various occasions led to your comrades to being caught by not only me, but my newfound equal as well. Whom may I add beat us both at one instance As well as your so-called “superior” technology like our own possesses fallbacks of its own such as camera blind spots with one such element as “stealth ore” which leaded to events where you required my help once again. Therefore, if you choose to criticize our technology further you should instead remember the multiple instances in which your technology utterly failed to our own and we ourselves have bested you in various ways. Now, having said that I believe it is time for me to bid adieu my fair Foaly until our next encounter.
-Artemis Fowl
P.S. Say hi to Holly for me.
I believe you are mistaken, young Artemis. Have you been blinded by the fact that fairies are superior to humans. While you humans continue to play around with your inferior technology we, fairies are moving forward. Have you humans developed the ability to clone. I think not. We, both, humans and fairies have been on Earth for a long time yet you Mud-Men lag far behind. Whilst you humans were busy playing with grass and stones we, fairies have been busy moving forward in our technology. This doesn’t go without saying that some humans may be intelligent. You, Artemis are an example of that. The problem is, the number of stupid (excuse my use of that word) humans out-weigh the number of smart humans. We fairies, are naturally smart. The camera that you mentioned previously was made by Opal Koboi. I prefer that you get the facts straight before makind mindless jargon up. The fairy technology that you encoutered were old, 70 years old as a matter of fact. Where
were you, humans 70 years ago, busy staring at the wonder that is a digital watch. I find it amusing that we fairies, were underground for thousands of years, and were not discovered. Artemis, you are merely a 14 year old. Not old enough to understand the world surrounding us yet old enough to browse the internet. I’ll admit that human technology is decent, to say the least. I just have trouble with the fact that you seem to deny the fact that fairy technology is superior to yours. Au revoir. May you be at your best in our next confrontation.
- Foaly
What is the fairy equivalent of a gaming/entertainment device?
Foaly is slightly(which basically means he is) conceited, with great intelligence, but which he sadly uses to inflate his already swollen head.
Please don’t reply, since your “scathing” responce/rant will no doubt cause my laptop to crash.
Would you two stop fighting! Foaly, they’re mud-men. Get over it. Artemis, we have supirior tecnology. Get over it. Human tecnology is not worth fighting over. Besides, you have never bested me in chess, Artemis, so look who’s talking. I’m going to get some curry, and when I get back, you two better be friends. Got it? Good. Bye!:)
~Holly
Miss Short I would not call this fighting more as a friendly debate of sorts between two similar inquisitive minds. Now though I agree partially with your sentiment, I regret to inform you that contrary to your belief it is through my races’ “inferior” technology that gave you such trouble to begin with. Also chess (though a good attempt) isn’t a quite good representative of life in which I’ve bested you and the LEPrecon organization quite a few times. I find it amusing Miss Short that despite your “superior” technology you have made quite a few mistakes in regards to typing. Am I to assume that the “superior” of our races hasn’t discovered spell check? That is very sad I might say. Now until you find a good point on which to debate about I suggest you best not interfere.
-Artemis Fowl
P.S. How’s JJ?
Dearest Feuding Fairies & Humans,
As a girl living in modern times I must agree that this fairy technology sounds impressive to say the least, but do not under-estimate the percentage of intelligent and competent humans. Though the human race does not actively participate in these higher technologies we are just steps away from harnessing them. But I do not take offense in your comment towards most humans being “stupid”, I actually respect it. It’s true! Most do not take advantage of their brains capability of synapse data transfer. In any event, this was a very entertaining argument to take a part in. Thank you for this intriguing opportunity to speak with such “superior” minds.
Respectfully,
13 Year-Old American Honor Student
May I suggest a friendly battle of the wits to prove to each other who is the superior race. I will leave the choosing the battle, as I will be casually observing this event with a few friends as a manner of protection, just in case things do end up going a bit chaotic.
Also sorry about this sudden interference, just hope to end this silly “friendly debate” over superiority.
-Human Researcher of Faeries
P.S Hi Holly, can you please tell Mulch that I said hello.
My son used to think of reading as a chore, or school work – its only since I got him these Flips games that hes started to realise that its not – and you can enjoy reading. Its quite funny, his friend said I “tricked” him into reading.
The post above is a great example of what I am talking about when I refer to humans as stupid. Are human children stupid enough to call literature a “chore” or “school work”? That’s absurd. Enough of that.
What technology are humans close to harnessing? “Gimmicky” touch-screen devices? I would like anyone to name one technology in which humans are approaching fairies in.
Everything made by a man (or fairy) can be exploited by a man or in this case fairy. Your inquistive mind may have found some minor flaws in our technology. Then again, nothing is perfect. I do amire your persistence, Artemis.
Who is this “Human Researcher of Faeries”? Which human, apart from Butler and Artemis know of our existence. I demand you tell me.
One human seems to want to know the fairy equivalent of a game/entertainment device. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t tell you but upon further research of where you live/who you are (IP Address), I decided that with this information, you would not be able to inflict harm on us. Anyways, fairy entertainment devices contain a multitude of things. It contains 8 TB of RAM. A lot more then your puny “Nintendo DS” or “PSP”. The graphics produced by the system look realistic. A surey conducted by the FIA (Fairy International Association) found that fairy’s could not tell the difference between “it” and reality. Shocked?
I’d prefer if you stay out of the conversation, Holly Short. You obviously seem to not be capable of displaying a significant level of intelligence on the internet. You’re embarrasing fairies.
I look forward to Artemis’s response.
As I have read all your comments I believe that foaly is right. he has made many items including and object that stops time. though artemis has outsmarted the fairies. They had no idea that anyone could have outsmarted Foaly. the only reason that Foaly was outsmarted was because Foaly brags so much that he is the best. by his gloating no one would believe that he could be wrong. When I am saying this Foaly I am only stating from reading.
P.S say hi to mulch Holly and Doodah Day Foaly
Blatant contradiction above. If you are a human then how are you also a fairy.
Just thought I’d point that out.
Hello Fairies,
I am a Shinigami, residing in the Shinigami Realm, and am here to declare a treaty with the Fairy People. First of all, Foaly, I am impressed with your intelligence and knowledge of human technologies. Second, these “mud men” seem to be as their name entitles, people who wallow in mud and never advance in terms of technology.
Third, this “Artemis Fowl” character, is an exception from the mud men, for he has sufficient intelligence to match that of the fairies.
In the SHinigami Realm, there are several figureheads that produce extraordinary technology, such as the Scepter, which is a weapon that can manipulate the time-space rift.
Foaly, contact with me if you can,
Shinigami Cynil
While both, Artemis and Foaly, have many great points, have you tried to view the others point of the subject. Yes, mud men are less advance than fairy, but is this not to be expected. The fairy population has needed the advancement, or the edge if you will, to stay hidden; where humankind or mud men have not. I do not claim to be one of the smarter mud men,but even I can relies that the longer the life span the more one is likely to acquire knowledge. Than would not the race of fairies be the more advance than humans, as they live far longer than the seventy to eighty years of an average mud man. Before you say it Foaly, I am also aware that mud men are also lacking in many aspects that you would deem worthy. We are human ignorant of such creatures as the fairy race, so with out that knowledge is in not right that we consider us the “superior.”
From nobody of great importance
Dear people or fairy’s first you have to know that I do not speak English verry well (I think it sounds more like American). I just teached it to myself by reading english books. also I lack the abillity to speak in tongues so please Foaly or Artemis or anybody else do not mention it. I am just another cheesehead from over the sea. first of all what is the point of fighting (or call it a friendly debate if you want) about who is smarter Artemis or foaly.I mean you can write that it is about the species but I see that its just a fight about jou two.foaly tries to irritate Artemis by saying how dump mud people are and yes some people are just plain stupid but you have also some people that have a litle bit IQ. and you have beings who don’t prove every 3 minutes how smart they are(and that one was too for you Artemis) and Artemis tries to show of how smart he is by using big words and examples how he outwitted Foaly. or maybe it is just to keep things juicy.
-Luan
Ps:how are your brothers? oh, and Artemis you realy have to do something about your dutch.there exist more difficult words than restaurant
Congrats to Holly! It’s nice to know that Artimes isn’t great at everything. I personally am rather good at chess and would like to give you a deul somtime. Foaly, where did you go to collage? I think if it is that educational that i might look into it. (with respect) Master Fowl, nice to meet you. I’m Hannah. Do me a favor and say ‘Hi’ to Butler and Juliet for me. By the way- how’s the Jade Princess thing coming?
Mr. Colfer- I am a big fan of you novels and think that a good subject for a (i hope) next book would be Artimes makes a bet with Miss Short, Holly wins and Artimes must go into the past and save beetroot (Commander Root). I like that Commander and would love to have him back. I would also like to lean Gnomish so… please make an language learning book aswell.
-your loving fan,
Hannah
P.s. I nearly forgot! How are your brothers artimes?
Since this site did not accept my answers i am forced to ay it again.
I am the one called human fairy. i told you that my roots are from fairies and mud men. i read it in a book. if you ask why would a fairy like a human it is because. in the past humans had magic too. Foaly you have avoided my comment on your swelled head and gloating
with all due respect.
deven
Bonjour, Master Artemis and Monsieur Foaly.
I am a teenager from America though I speak slight French (I just like to speak in tongues). I really am having difficulty beleiving in these posts being from Artemis and Foaly. You did capture there personas quite well, but the mistakes in grammar and spelling would be completely uncharacteristic of either Artemis or Foaly. Foaly would have something to check his spelling unless he was so conceited he would beleive he could type and spell everything perfectly. Artemis I wouldn’t think would have any mistakes just because he would probably never invent something that didnt have basic programs like spell-check (and I know you probably invented or atleast made the computer you’re typing on Artemis.) Either way I dont think you two are the real Foaly or Artemis. If you are I would suggest a simple idea of re-reading what you type before you send it.
To something more towards the argument. I think fairies do have more technology, but you must remember, humans have created some good advances considering the lifespan humans have to learn and invent with. We have a much more limited time to learn with compared to a fairy who can easily outlive a human born ten years before them. Many of our great inventors could have created things to move us even closer to fairies if they could live as long as a fairy. Then there was the black plague that killed so many of our numbers as to slow our advances. If we had your lifespan and weren’t killed by plagues, we could be at your level if not beyond it.
I’m not saying humans can’t be stupid at times. I can think of a list of people with such limited intelligence or understanding that I would love to make people at our age that are that moronic be considered mentally retarded. Then there’s world leaders that can’t understand things themselves beyond their politics. There aren’t many humans that actually could become as intelligent as a fairy now a days if they had that lifespan. If we were to be born with your lifespan since creation, it would easily of made this kind of idiocy I see everyday impossible. I personally blame the people in our government that are just manipulative idiots that ruined our intelligence. France is getting closer to solving this problem, but us Americans are being left behind because we are a so called “World Power” and have to fight any war that begins.
So please, just admit your faults and move toward the more productive goals.
Oh, and hello there Holly. How is your job going? Any interesting cases?
Sincerely,
L’Alchimiste, Shane
The mistakes in grammar and spelling were the result of a rushed post. No need to nitpick.
I doubt it. It is a fact that fairies are smarter then human beings. There are few intelligent human beings. Perhaps, if they had the same lifespan, they may have been able to come close to the technology that we have.
-
@ fairyhuman: Admit it. Your name is a direct contradiction unless you are 50% human and fairy which is obviously impossible.
-
@ Shinigami: You do seem like an intelligent species. I’ll have to do more research about you. I am shocked that I haven’t heard of you, until now.
Despite human technology being behind fairies, this game certainly ups the ante. Now if it could just be expanded to reach the entire world! (Especially considering that international shipping is quite expensive.) Doubtless Foaly and Lower Elements undermine this game and its human technology in an attempt to purchase all copies at rock bottom prices so that no humans could have fairy secrets so conveniently available.
Foaly, (if you really are Foaly) you started this fight to annoy Artemis. Artemis, you replied with extremely long words to annoy Foaly. So, basically, anytime either of you reply to each other, it won’t be to proove your point, it’ll just be to annoy someone. Foaly, get used to it – at some time or other us humans are going to catch up with your technology. Probably not soon, but sometime. And if I’m wrong…well, I’m just not wrong.
And you should really stop watching human movies, Foaly. They damage tinfoil hats and give humans a better chance of reading your mind (just to make you a little more paranoid than you already are).
And do not ignore me!
Arty, I dare you to write something nice in this argument. Just because I know you can’t do it!
From,
Eemz/Dragon Girl
P.S. Holly, if you want them to stop fighting, just hit them on the head. If there’s one thing I learned when you punched Koboi in the head that time, is that when Holly Short punches someone in the head, everything is bound to turn out well.
Hmmm….it does seem interesting. I’m a big fan of the series myself but I live in the U.A.E. When shall it be released here? Not that I have a Nintendo DS but there’s a possibility I’ll get one in the near future. I’m not a juvenile delinquent as you may think, I really am brilliant although not egocentric. I better cut this off short as I’m not supposed to be on this site. I’m supposed to be studying. Hah!I’ve passed everything ages ago………
A library addict
Sorry….I just had realised I spelt bibliophile wrong. My reputation is crushed. But besides that I want somebody with bigger brains than me to answer my question. By the way Foaly, It isn’t smart to yell out that you’re “foaly” as I have been trying to crack your systems for a while now and you are making the challenge all too easy. And I’ve always wondered what your last name is, Foaly?
A Lbrary Addict
First of all this argument is really stupid. I agree with Dragon Girl. Foaly you should be ashamed of yourself for starting this pointless fight. Artemis could you try to I don’t know… stop getting of Foaly’s nerves? You both just love getting in a “friendly debate” don’t you? Second, great job at besting Artemis at something Holly! I knew you could! Third, Holly if you want them to stop, wack them on the head. I would be funny to see Artemis getting wacked. By the way can you say hi to Mulch and Jay Jay for me? Arty can you say hi to Juliet and Butler for me?
-Mud girl
P.S. Mr. Colfer what happened to Minerva? I really enjoyed her. I really thought that she and Artemis were perfect together. Could you please consider bringing her back?
Sorry, I can be a very annoying grammar nazi, Foaly. Force of habit to help my peers. As I said before, they can be quite slow.
More on topic, I completely agree. The number of intelligent humans has diminished since the actual beginnings of our sciences (which was quite before yours unfortunately). We used to be make leaps every couple decades but nothing really has been made of late. I really wish at least I could have the lifespan of a fairy so I could help my society work its way into a more prosperous era.
hi! im angelyne
eoin colfer i loooove artemis fowl! say in maybe the 8th volume of artemis fowl you may soon make can you make artemis fowl and holly short get married?
p.s. HOLLY SHORT AND ARTEMIS FOWL I L0VE YOU! mulch diggums and doodah day keep up with the GOOD work and not the bad. also faoly no more fighting plus hows your wife? got any children yet? o.o
I think that FLIPS is a good idea, but I was hoping that the first Artemis Fowl DS game would be LEGO Artemis Fowl, like LEGO star wars or something. In fact, if I had the right software, I’m sure I could engineer one. Artemis and Foaly would have the intelligence to crack codes, Butler, Juliet and Holly could knock down doors and shoot, Mulch might dig in certain spots etc. I liked the thought anyway. Of course, it may coincide with the launch of the eighth book for publicity?…
What do you think of that, dear Arty?
