While the video was interesting, the song just doesn’t fit with Artemis’ personality. In fact I can imagine Artemis cringing at this song haha. It just didn’t seem to be the action-type but “sophisticated” music I was expecting. Side note: I just finished the Atlantis Complex and loved it! Based of the end of that book can we expect more to come?

  2. 2 Kara

I love the song. Eoin Colfer said in his live video that there will be another book to sum it all up. I LOVE THE BOOKS AND THE MUSIC, but i do think Artemis would like it too much. lol

  3. 3 Cassie

I kind of agree with Ben… the song is great and I enjoyed it (the video, too; it was very clever!), but the song just doesn’t seem to suit Artemis’s personality. It is catchy, though. Very catchy. =D

This music video was so amazing. I am so glad that I saw that. I love the music, I hope there are more than two songs. I’m almost finished with The Atlantis Complex and I am enjoying it. None of these books have disappointed me. I really hope that this series continues at least for a few more books.

well Ben, I read in an interview that Eoin is planning to make atlantis complex the penultimate. Meaning it is the second to last book. The next one is guarunteed the last book, as sad as it may seem. And yes, I quite agree. Artemis would most definitely cringe seeing common slang coming out of his mouth, in word bubbles no less. LOL

  6. 6 T-me

Wow. Anti-hero, boy genius, and then uppity yet catchy rock tune? Something doesn’t seem to add up here…

I loved this song but I want to know the date of the publication of Artemis Fowl and the Atlantic complexe in french –”. Because I am french and I am not speak english very well. So if a person know it inform me. Thanks.

Cute song…doesn’t go extremely well with Arty’s personality, though. I’ve never liked the idea of the graphic novel thing, but the video was cute and creative. I just pictured Artemis more elegant, Root more human, Butler less deformed-looking, and Holly less sexualized.

  9. 9 Jenna

Okay so why do they make songs that so not go with the main characters’ personality? I guess the songs alright, did anyone else find Atlantis Complex a little odd at the end? I mean it is a good book still, can’t wait for the next one though.

Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics to these songs?

i agree the music does not suit my personality.also did anyone notice that in the first four books Colfer explains alot about fairy technology with mind-wipes,time stops,anti-rad suits, and laser cannons, but in ‘atlantis complex’ foaly has a mobile phone and sends a email to police plaza.it seems as if the fairies are going backwards.it also didn’t have the trademark epic plot.at first i was sadened to hear the series will be ending with the next book, but after reading ‘atlantis complex’ i wish it had ended with the ‘time paradox’ so i hope colfer plans on ending this series with a great plot that outdoes all others.

p.s I loved all your other books and i still am one of your biggest fans

    yours honestly,

I love the song is catchy, I like the images on the graphic novel, but it’s great, I just read the first 5 books because I live in Mexico City and I need the book in Spanish because my English is not the best, but I’m trying to understand the sixth book.

I love this song! I knew people went nuts over Arty and the gang (like me) but I never knew they’d make such COOL songs! Complex: Atlantis has got to be my all time favorite. I’m so curious about Artemis’ disorder, even after already reading the book. Orion was genius!

  14. 14 Artemis Fowl

I must say that the video graphics were quite impressive, though I found the song infuriatingly up beat despite the obvious tension that was present during my adventures with the People. I was unaware that I spoke of my name so often that they might fabricate a song featuring such an unconscious habit, but I guess it was to appeal to a larger audience then myself. I’m not sure whether I should be honoured that someone took such an interest in my ventures or utterly appalled that someone has conjured up the idea that my various escapades are to be taken lightly and cheerfully. I don’t recall deeming Holly Short ‘wicked’ or saying that it is getting ‘heavy’ as that would be slang usage of the word ‘heavy’. Also, the incessant bright lights were a little exuberant in my opinion. All in all though, it was an item of interest, my suspicions of insult aside.

    Yeah Yeah Yeah????????
That is not how I pictured an Artemis Fowl song to be. Frankly, the song is weird. No offence or anything. It’s a good song in the wrong context. Definitly the wrong context.
The Atlantis Complex was good by the way, but the ending was a bit short. It didn’t explain what I wanted to know at the end, relating to the book.
(My favourite book was the Time Paradox by the way because of the complicity of it)

I am OBSESSED with those songs!! I don’t care what other people say, because those songs ROCK and are the only things I’ve been listening to for the past week! Rock on, Artemis!! :D

    Your biggest fan,

  17. 17 Sylmarillion

lol I wonder who the Artemis Fowl in yellow letters really is…

Side note: I did like the video, and the music, but the whole thing struck me as very superficial and shallow (which is completely NOT true) and specifically 8-and-under age category. I mean, seriously, does anyone really think this is going to be played in front of 12-year-olds (even if it is at a book event) and they’re not going to burst out laughing?

  18. 18 JASMINE TALL

Hey! pepole I havent had the opportunity to read any of the time paradox so wish me luck finding it! p.s. the songs were AWESOME,totally loved them

  19. 19 Levi Sweeney

    This is… stupid.

I mean, seriously. Artemis Fowl and Hard Rock do NOT belong together. I realise that Colfer is trying to make Arty “cool,” but making a hard rock music video about a character does not make them “cooler.” I don’t even know why they even need any kind of music for our favorite teenage mastermind. That can wait until the movie or a video game gets made. And I pray- I plead- I beg, that they don’t use either of these for either of those.

To put it simply, THIS WHOLE THING IS COMPLETLEY SUCKISH.

  20. 20 JASMINE TALL

Um sweeney, I kind of agree with you, but that is a little harsh….chill!

  21. 21 Lianne Irene

This video seemed to strike me as “off” somehow… The song did not seem like something fit to be Artemis Fowl’s theme. Perhaps a song that actually sounds heavy instead of something that just says its heavy. Repeatedly, mind you. The graphic novel graphics also seemed slightly… How do I put this? Incorrect. Its nice to be able to read Artemis’ adventures in comic form, but I wish that they had more attention to details. I seem to recall Holly having a buzz cut, and Artemis having blue eyes. All in all, it was a pretty decent video.

I loved the seventh book. Orion is hilarious! I am very pleased that Juliet regained her memory. I cannot wait to read the next book. This one ended in a cliff hanger. Although cliff hangers are incredibly annoying, they leave such a great place to let your imagination run wild.

    Artemis! You are awesome!

  22. 22 DragonGirl

I loved the song, even though it didn’t suit Artemis himself, it pretty much gelled with the spirit of series. If it was Artemis himself I’d go for something…I don’t know, ominous? I can imagine this song with Orion – actually I can kinda imagine him singing it, and it’s an image that shall return and make me smile most days.
I can also imagine Commander Root and the LEP watching this and poor Artemis knowing that even HE can’t recover.
Love you Artemis! You’re the older brother I never had…wait, that would make him annoying, now, wouldn’t it?

  23. 23 Helen Douglas

I am sorry to be responding to someone who posted eight posts above me, but I agree entirely with Artemis. The songs simply do not fit his personality at all. If someone wrote a song about me, it would probably end up something like Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. That is, if it were written by a competant person who could compose. Sadly, I only personally know one composer, and I find him an extremely irritating individual, let alone competant.

  24. 24 Lamelie Short

at first i thought the song was stupid, but the catchy melody made me think of it as of a song and not just like of something fowlish. as a song it’s just amazing! but not about artemis. isn’t he trying to avoid the mainstream all the time?

  25. 25 Kristi

btw, got to artemisfowl.com to download the song.

And for just picking up the book yesterday, it’s pretty good.
I went to the book signing because I knew Ridley Pearson would be there and now I’m super happy to add this to my collection!

  26. 26 Beckett Simpleton

There was another one last time I was here. An Atlantis Complex one. It was good, I liked that one. I don’t like this one much though. I don’t like the pictures in the Graphic Novel to star with. The music is good, song catchy, but not Artemis. Also, why, pray tell, does the Irish boy speak with an Americn accent?

  27. 27 Elodea91

Hi everybody!! :) I’m an Italian fan of Artemis Fowl’s adventures and I like this song a lot!! I like the video, too. I’m waiting for “The Atlantis Complex”, I don’t know when it will be published in Italy… I also like the song “Complex:Atlantis”, in fact I prefer this one :) I have a question: the boy who is in the video “Atlantis:Complex” and in the trailer of the seventh book (on artemisfowl.com) is Josh Fix?
I love Artemis Fowl’s books and I hope that the next book won’t be the last one…

  28. 28 Hermia Moon

I really do love this song. I am happily waiting for the next book in the series and can’t wait to be brought along on another one of Artemis’s ventures! Oh and in case you don’t know . . . ARTEMIS IS MINE!!!!!!!! MINE, YOU HEAR ME! MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . . . oops, looks like I lost my head for a second. So anyway, I like this song but it does not suit my boyfriend . . . I MEAN ARTEMIS OF COARSE!

  29. 29 Artemis Fowl Follower

Well, I just think that this is just amazing. I hope in the next book all of my questions are answered about this Artemis/Holly thing. I still wonder whatever happened to Minerva though…

  30. 30 Kamikaze

I agree. Where did Minerva go?

Anyway, the music is really good, although yes, it does not suit Artemis’s personal style, but it doesn’t have to.

  31. 31 Kelsea

Hey, Hermia, if Artemis Fowl is real, then logic tells us that Holly is, too. Try telling Holly that Artemis is your boyfriend! Also- assuming that Artemis IS your boyfriend- how do you know that he isn’t cheating on you, huh? P.S. Sorry for responding to somebody that’s three posts above me.

I do like the song, but it just doesn’t match with Artemis’s personality…

  32. 32 Astra Delis

No offense Hermia, but I totally agree with Kelsea.

I also like the music videos, but they totally ruin my mental image of Artemis and everyone else.

  33. 33 EmoPiglet169

I agree with Sylvia, up at the top, about the whole ‘graphic novel thing thing’. I mean LOOK AT THEM!!! Holly’s hair is shorter than that, a crew cut. I know a girl at school with a crew cut, who said, quote “…like Holly’s is in the books, not the graphic novels. A crew cut is shorter than that!.” unquote. Also, root looks like some kind of evil gremlin. I mean, he wasn’t one of my favorite characters to begin with, but the graphic novels (hereby referred to as G.N.) ruined it for me. The images just are stuck in my brain. At least my copy fell apart(it was paperback, and I only had the first one). Artemis did look very…pointy? In the G.N’s, just very, pointy. For me, that’s the only way to describe it. Butler WAS very deformed! Seriously, no one’s head is that small in proportion to their body. One of the first lessons of drawing, one would think. (I wouldn’t know, I never took lessons. (But I need them)). Overall, I just didn’t like the g.n.’s. You know how some people are visual learners, or hands on learners, or learn better if they just read it them self? Well, I kinda a in-betweener. I liked the idea of a graphic novel, but they just weren’t any good.
    Wow, that was long.
if you’re still here, congrats! If not, I guess you wouldn’t be reading this any way.
