I've noticed that a lot of people who like Eoin's books also like Smeyer's. Personally, I think Smeyer is a horrible author (What have I just done?), for reasons I'll explain if anyone cares to ask. I think that the two authors have TOTALLY different styles and that it is strange SO MANY people who like EC like Smeyer.
Of course, that's just my two cents. I have a feeling this is gonna get real ugly, real soon.

Honestly I think Stephanie Meyer is a good author not the best but she is good Eoin is better I have to say the entire Artemis Fowl series is amazing and all of his other books as well and he has written more than 13 books where as Stephanie has only written as far as I know 5 books

What I really hate is those people who are like "OMG I LOVE U EDWARD !" when he is CLEARLY an abusive boyfriend. http://vampirely.wordpress.com/category/recap/twilight/ for more reasons. The whole blog is a good view of looking at it. The writing is very redundant, including lines such as: "Hmmm," he muttered. [He] laughed. "Hehehe," he chuckled. ... I'm confident half of the fanbase is based on the Gomlich Effect, and Smeyer is just a... bad writer. Twilight has an average of 250 words per page. Actually, the pages surveyed were all a little eerily close to 250. Maybe she really did have a quota. Anyway, there are 498 pages, subtracting 12 for the difference in chapter end and chapter start pages, giving us 486.
According to my counts, there are more than 1360 adverbs in this book, an average of 3 per page. Given that the average page is 250 words long, we would have nearly six pages of just adverbs. One of her actual chapters is shorter than this.

First of all, I'm not "trashing" Smeyer, just pointing out reasons she is a bad writer. I would like to hear a few points for her being a good writer.

Alright I am just finalizing this I don't want this to come up again. People have their own views on things some people think Stephanie is a bad author ome people think she is a good author and some people think she is good but isn't the best and that who I am

I agree with somepartsrme. I think Smyer sold her soul. That's the only way she could have written something so horrible.
Eoin's work, on the other hand, is witty, interesting, captivating, and original. I don't understand why so many of his fans also like Twilight...

I really don't want to continue this Meyer is not that good I understand that I am not a major fan of her or a big fan at least not much a fan but I just think her work could use a lot of editing and better ideas and concepts I could probably do better and I'm just eleven

First, you still haven't answered my question. Second, I'm only eleven too, so your argument has no validity. I agree with somepartsrme. I think Smyer sold her soul. That's the only way she could have written something so horrible.

Exactly, thank you.

somepartsrme - Those facts are amazing! And I totally agree with you. Meyer's work is just not original. Almost none of the vampire books that I've read are. With that many vampire books out and about, it's very hard to stay original.
SL12 - I know that you don't appreciate people "trashing" Meyer or whatever, but it's only our opinions and things we found to support our opinions. You said more than once that you don't want to continue this, but then you post again. This is an opinionated thread, so if someone doesn't like it, they don't have to read it. It's your choice.

Actually you know I just don't care any more I'm not giving in to either side but I am just saying this one fact that I shold have broguth up a long time ago but was too lazy to say I never really have like Meyer. I thought her work was a bit on the pathetic side the romance just killed it and as well as the vampire in the romance. If it had been modereatly more original as Eoins it would have sold more copies and have gained more fans.

I don't like Meyer either. And I don't hate her for being a mediocre author. I hate the fans that love her so much even though that it really is a mediocre writing. People ought to know the difference between good writing and bad writing. And Meyer, though isn't the worst author, isn't a good author.

I know. It thoroughly mystifies me. My theory is that someone found a book with both vampires and 'romance' in one and passed the book around to his/her friends with the same horrible taste. And SOMEHOW, people actually like the emo, self-loathing, oh-I-love-you-but-I-know-I-can't-because-I'm-a-idiot pathetic excuse for a vampire!! And people LOVE him!! Just like they love the clumsy, idiotic excuse for a main character that is almost completely not real! Oh, and a word of advice to anyone who is writing a story: if the whole story that you're creating is leading up to a huge battle between two species (Vampire and werewolf, anyone??), DO NOT MAKE THE MAIN CHARACTER HIDE UP IN SOME STUPID CAVE DURING THE WHOLE STUPID THING!!! ... So sorry about all of that. When I start ranting, I START RANTING. '>.<

Also, I never said I hated Smeyer, just that she was a horrible author and that I hate her writing.
