Ok, seen as though the people who have read the novel already can't discuss it in the other threads for fear of divulging spoilers to others who haven't read it yet, I've created this thread to discuss the novel!
SPOILERS AS OF NOW.
So, guys, I was talking with Serp about Bonvilian, and we've agreed that he's one of the evilest villains Colfer's ever created.
What do you think?
And did you enjoy the book?

Yay!! Thanks, Matt! I read Airman over an entire day of school (not recommended! XD), but it was totally brilliant from start to finish. I seriously couldn't put it down. Bonvilain is such a good villain! You've got to love the sadistic, mind-twisting types XD. I loved it when he told Declan that Connor had died, but told Connor his father hated him. It was just plain evil. EVIL! You couldn't help hating him. Declan and Catherine were really cool, too. And I nearly cried when Declan shot the balloon and Catherine was crying :3. T'was sooo happy! It had all the right amounts of everything! Like happy stuff, and funny stuff and scary stuff and sad stuff and angry stuff and romantic stuff... All the ingredients of an amazing book! The funny parts were hilarious, too . I laughed a lot. Victor Vigny was one of my favourite characters, so I was really sad when he died!! You've gotta love the heroic French guys. XD Bates was awesome! Yeah, he didn't do much, but the stuff he said was really cool . He reminds me of someone but I can't think who... @_@ So yes! Ten blue stars out of ten!! Eoin totally has a right to be proud of it!

I have to agree, it was an amazing book, I really enjoyed it.
I think you're right, it mixed genres well, combining romance, comedy, action and adventure to create a perfect blend.

I thought Eoin did the romance really well, it wasn't like you felt embarresed because it was awkward or anything, it was written really good. My favourite character was probably Wynter, It was amazing the way he could do so much without eyes! Who do you prefer, Conor or Artemis? I think I prefer Conor, becuase he showed more compassion, and I could empathise with him much better Cracking good book!

Ooh! Don't make me choose between Connor and Artemis. They're both fantasic and I love them both equally for different reasons. I thought Connor was sort of like Artemis at the start, especially when he was talking to Isabella. It kind of reminded me of Artemis talking to Minerva, although Connor was totally taken off-guard by Prince Christian and the paint and the lemonade and Porkchop (OMG that bit was amazing! XD ROFL). But then when he went to prison he became different and totally awesome. He's definitely more noble than Artemis... But then Artemis is Artemis.

I liked Artemis schemes and things, but then I thoght Conor was equally as clever, the way he always thought 2 steps ahead. And he had a really good heart Bonvilian on the other hand! OH MY GOODNESS! He, eurgh, grr.. I can't explain how much he annoyed me; but he must have been a terrific actor to have pulled his wicked way off! Conor's mum, was it Catherine? She seemed so kind, and nice and lovely I think i really liked the bond that Isabella had with Conor's parents! Thats was good

I've not finnised it yet, i'm so flipping busy with christmas and stuff. That Bonvilian blokes got it coming, he really has. Conor is easily better that Arty, Arty's always got Butler there to step in where as Conor is Just like Whapow! and everyone's down. I did has some misgivings about this book, thinking that it would be a AF rip off and in a small sense of the word it is, but it's Great. i can't put it down and frequantly end up falling asleep with it in hand. I'm trying to make some miture firework ballons that i can thorw flamming sticks or someything at, but i can't find and minute fireworks so thats that plan out the window on a glider. The only bit that really enoyed me was when Nick and Victor Vigny(VV, same initals as my mum (Y)) got blown away, that was proper harsh and not only that but then Bonvilian has Chain mail while conor shoots him, that was just ... Just... er, i'm not sure what it was but it wasn't good! Two of the names are quite funny: Bonvilian = Good Vilian, bon being french for good. Malarkey = Rubbish, Eg. What a load of malarkey. I liked that. Anyways i hope that Bonvilian will get What he deserves, and it's not going to be pudding.

Airman was brilliant! One of Eoin best books! I was so good, the plot, chracters and the artwork! (Ooooh!) I have to agree, Bonvilain has to be one of the most evil villans ever. I felt so sorry for Conner, I glad Bonvilain got what was coming to him. Conner was a great character, very smart yet very emotional. An Artemis with more feeling. XD And yes, he wrote the romance well, it was really good and didnt make you cringe.

Do you think there will be a sequel? Eoin left it open for one, but you can't really use the whole plot about being the first to fly again. Can you?

I stayed up till 3 am trying to finish it and had to complete it the next day (I'd started at 1 am, so...)... IT WAS AWESOME. I have to say, though, that bit with Conor and his identity issues when he was dead-set on going to New York... that was REALLY frustrating. I wanted to jump into the book, whack him upside the head a few times, and remind him of Isabella and his family and all that. I'm such a sentimental person sometimes...

That's exactly how I felt... Besides, I haven't whacked somebody upside the head in a while. Oh, and isn't that just a lovely review? Please make note that you are on the author's forum, so when you get trampled by an angry mob, it should be expected. Of course, this angry mob will be carrying stuff like the unabridgged diciounary, really heavy books that hurt. Personally, I'd like to find a story that doesn't end happily, not counting tradgidies or Orwell books.
