You've got the typical hero, a boy born into a good-hearted world without poverty, it all goes to hell and he's left to save the day. You've got the typically evil villain who's power-crazy and has no regard for anyone else, the evil villain's sidekick, and so much more... it's excellent.

you could put it that way shiaw... but tome it sounds like it has all the perfect ingredients that have been used to make great stories for a long time.

hope theres a crazy old lady in there somewhere... like the chairman's original owner in Making Money by terry pratchett. They make me laugh for some reason.

(serp might understand lol)

LOL. You spend time on an author's forum... then disrespect his work before you've even read it. Typical.

hardly disrespectful. I was just stateing my oppinion as to how it sounded from the short 2 sentence summary you posted on this thread. possibly if you put a summary that said more of the story plot then it might sound more interesting. Next time don't be so blunt.

crazy old lady... hmmm... interesting thought.

Or maybe, as opposed to asking me to force-feed you a positive, spoiler-filled summary, you should wait until you've read the book before posting your ignorant criticism.

Hhmmm... his family has a fair part. His dad mainly. Kind of the reason he ends up on the prison island is because of who his father is...

maybe if you didn't make it sound so "typical" and boring then quite possibly I might have different oppinions on the book. But when you summarize it you make it sound like some second rate batman or spiderman movie with a clifhanger saying "It really is better than it sounds" I have no doubt the book will be good. I was simply commenting on the way you summarized this book during this whole time but you took it to offense thinking and making assumptions that I was criticising the book before I even read it. If your trying to put out a good message for the book for publicity or whatever reasons you should at least say something other than "Its your typical hero in a typical world and theirs a typical evil villian trying to screw everyone over". You simply make it sound so incredibly... dull.

Oh, shut up. Not only are you now DRAGGING this irrelevant out after numerous attempts to get it back on track, you're coming up with stupid replies.

Have you bothered reading up on ANYTHING else I've said about it? Check out the other threads:

Quote
It really is epic... the only way I can really describe it that way is... have you  seen The Mask of Zorro? It kind of reminds me of that... lots of really fast-paced sword fights and action scenes, I love the training parts as well, where Conor's training. It's brilliant.

And 'make it sound so typical!' What the hell are you talking about? I simply said that there's a typical hero and a typical villain. Just about EVERY book has some form of a hero and a villain in it. Are you calling every book ever written a knock-off?

Now get over it.

I can't even think of a way to get this conversation back on track now. Whatever. Savvy, lock this if you get the chance please.

This thread shall be locked for the time being. I'll open it up after the book comes out and then people can discuss the characters.

No, Conor Broekhart, Hugo Bonvilain, Otto Malarkey, Sultan Arif, Declan Broekhart, and Princess Isabella, and Victor Vigny, are all characters from the story,
